Precision parts CNC machining process

1

Precision parts CNC machining process uses computer numerical control technology to process metal or non-metal materials with high precision. Start CAD software for 3D modeling and generate CNC programs through CAM software; select appropriate fixtures; prepare raw materials and cut; debug the CNC machine tool, set cutting tools, rotation speed and feed speed; start the machine tool and automatically process according to the program; detect after completion size and surface quality and make necessary adjustments; and finally post-processing, such as polishing and spraying, to improve part performance and appearance. Due to its high precision, efficiency and flexibility, CNC machining process is widely used in industries such as aerospace, automotive and electronics. The following is Yunci’s summary of the CNC machining process:

Process flow

2Before CNC machining of precision parts, you first need to understand the process flow of the product, including the processed parts, shape, drawings and various dimensions.

During the design phase, we use CAD modeling tools to create 3D models of the parts and generate detailed drawings covering information such as dimensions, tolerances and material requirements. Next, write a CNC machining program and set parameters such as cutting path, feed speed, and spindle speed.

Before CNC machining, self-inspection should be carried out in time so that components with errors or problems can be maintained and improved. The self-inspection includes the clamping conditions of equipment, tools and workpieces:

  • Equipment inspection: Ensure that CNC machine tools are operating properly and perform necessary maintenance and calibration.

  • Tool installation: Install the selected tool on the machine tool for preliminary debugging.

  • Workpiece clamping: Check whether the mechanical parts are loose to ensure they are stable and reliable during processing.

After CNC machining is completed, comprehensive inspection and measurement are critical, including size, shape, surface quality and functionality inspection to ensure that the part meets the design requirements. Use various measuring tools (such as vernier calipers, roughness meters, etc.) to check key parameters and record the measurement results, especially if the tolerance is exceeded. Record data and problems during processing, comprehensively analyze data, and discuss process improvement suggestions. Based on feedback, we optimize the processing process and material use, and continuously monitor the improvement effects to ensure the improvement of part quality and production efficiency.
